1. Play Dead was an English gothic rock band from Oxford that emerged from the fading punk scene in 1980. Though often associated with bands like UK Decay and Sex Gang Children, they did not consider themselves part of the gothic movement. The band released three studio albums on four different independent labels: Fresh Records, Jungle Records, Situation 2, and Clay Records.
