Artist Info: Marehemu George Mukabi

Marahemu George Mukabi (1930-1963) was a folk musician from Kenya, and was one of the first recording musicians in the country. The prefix "marahemu" roughly transalates to "the late" in English, which alludes to his tragically short musical career. He was influenced by "Nyasa" Malawian bands and set out to play similar music in the fingerpicking style.
