Ilja Glusgal was born on the 24th of July 1921 in Berlin, Germany and was an accomplished jazz drummer, singer, entertainer and comedy actor during the 1940's and 1950's with later television work lasting until the mid 1960's. He sang both in German and English and among his better known musical recordings are "Angelina", "Chi Baba", "Bitte ein Bit!", "Bongo, Bongo", "Mein Roter Bruder Wohnt In Arizona" and "Sensation Am Broadway".
