Heirlooms calls itself "Hartford's newest old band."

Jesse Stanford initially began Heirlooms as a solo project. Setting up in a family summer house outside the city, Stanford spent much of 2009 on an ambitious regiment of writing and rewriting handfuls of unfinished songs.
