Pleasure and Pain is a band, which like many other Italian formation seems to love the past glory and influences of the 80s new wave movement. Their main source of inspiration has to be found in this decade, but they still add a personal touch. They more than once remind me to the outstanding The Danse Society. I perceive the same kind of coldness and sterility featuring a remarkable guitar play. The "Never come back?"-song is my absolute favorite here and a very good reference to what they're doing. The guitar play seduced me more than once. The sound on "The light" is even a bit comparable to early U2.
With "She walks in beauty", they already deliver an excellent piece of
music with some more wafting guitar vibes. In a more electronic style, the "A voice"-track stands for that own touch I was talking about. This is an album full of nostalgia and a real enjoyable listening as well!
