"Tinnitus Sanctus" is the eighth studio album by the German heavy and power metal band Edguy, released on 14 November 2008 by Nuclear Blast. The album continues the progressive-oriented hard rock direction introduced on the band’s previous release, "Rocket Ride", while also incorporating elements of speed metal.
The album was issued in multiple formats. The standard edition was released in a jewel case and contained the ten main tracks along with an additional bonus track. A digipak edition included the same audio content as well as a bonus live CD recorded in Los Angeles during the "Rocket Ride" tour. A mail-order edition, available exclusively through the Nuclear Blast webshop, was packaged in a tin case. A double LP version was also released.
The album received generally positive early responses from the music press. Reviewer Tanja Weinekötter of Fury described it as the strongest album by the band to date, while vocalist Tobias Sammet stated that it could become the release by which the band would be judged in the future. A music video was produced for the song "Ministry of Saints", which was filmed in Belgrade, Serbia.
