"Bonfire" is a five-disc box set by Australian rock band AC/DC, released in 1997 and reissued in remastered form in 2003 in Digipak format. The collection was conceived to commemorate what would have been the 50th birthday of former lead vocalist Bon Scott, who died in 1980. The set includes the two-disc soundtrack to the film "Let There Be Rock", a live recording from Atlantic Records Studios in New York, previously unreleased early material, and a remastered version of the 1980 album "Back in Black".
The original 1997 release packaged each CD individually in jewel cases with full artwork and included additional items such as a poster, a backstage pass, a keyring, and other extras depending on the region. The 2003 reissue was presented in a large Digipak-style box with either four or five disc trays. In some versions, the remastered "Back in Black" was housed in its own separate case with a booklet. All editions include a book containing liner notes and photographs of the band, many from the period prior to Scott’s death.
The box set received mixed reactions from some fans, particularly regarding the amount of previously unreleased material included. Members of AC/DC stated that relatively little recorded material by Scott remained unreleased.
The Australian edition differs slightly from other versions. In that release, "Let There Be Rock: Live in Paris" was issued as a single disc with the tracks "Walk All Over You" and "T.N.T." removed; these songs were instead included on the disc "Volts", resulting in a four-disc box set.
