It's Alive is a live album by the American punk band the Ramones. It was recorded at the Rainbow Theatre, London, on December 31, 1977, and released in April 1979. The title is a reference to the 1974 horror movie of the same name. The album was originally released as a 2-LP set and draws material from the Ramones' first three albums. Four concerts during the U.K. tour were recorded, but the New Year's Eve performance was chosen because ten rows of seats were thrown at the stage after the concert and it was considered the best of the performances at the venue. The concert was also filmed and later released in a truncated form on the DVD It's Alive 1974-1996. On this Wikipedia entry, the claim is made that the footage, along with a later interview with Marky Ramone, revealed that on the album the bass, the guitar and the vocals were completely re-recorded in the studio. The drums however, were unchanged. However, side by side spot checking of the audio on the CD release and the DVD release does not definitively support this claim.
The album was certified gold in Argentina (more than 30.000 copies sold) in 1993.
